Best Buy and Sprint Palm Pre, Exclusive rights – Not So good for cell phone dealers

It seems that Best Buy Mobile has something up their cellular sleeve: exclusivity vending rights on the Palm Pre, once it’s launched. To get your hands on a Pre you must go to a Best Buy or a Sprint store. Sprint distirbutors will need to wait 60 days before receiving their shipment of Pre cell phones. If this goes to fruition, it’s very very good news for Best Buy, and very lousy new for Partners. Best Buy incurred record breaking sales in its last exclusive deal with Samsung, which may foreshadow for partners a not so fun selling after-party.
