¿Apple, en serio?: ¡iPhones 16 y 16 Plus de 1000 euros con pantalla de solo 60 Hz en 2024!

It may seem like a joke, but it’s not, especially considering the source of today’s leak. One of the best leakers in the Apple world has just dropped the bomb: the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have LTPS displays with only 60 Hz refresh rate, something unthinkable for devices that will cost at least the same as the current models. 60 Hz in 2024? Come on, Apple…
Unbelievably, another year is set to pass with Apple continuing to include lower-end displays from other brands in their devices, which are also much cheaper for those brands. Apple is expected to sell between 60 and 90 million units annually. The leaked information reveals the unjustifiable, but judge for yourself.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have LTPS 60 Hz displays. The iPhone 16 will feature a 6.12-inch LTPS 60 Hz display, while the iPhone 16 Plus will have a 6.69-inch display with the same technology and refresh rate. In essence, these are the same displays used in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Regarding the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, there’s not much news. What we know from the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max is that they integrate displays of the same size as their standard counterparts, 6.12 inches, and 6.69 inches, with LTPO technology up to 120 Hz.
These two higher-end iPhone models, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, will once again have LTPO displays – expected to be at least 120 Hz – but their size will be increased to 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches, respectively.
Another leaked detail is that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have higher-quality M12 organic materials, although no significant changes are expected as their predecessors also used M12 materials. In contrast, the Pro and Pro Max line will use better M14 organic materials, although it is not yet revealed where they will be used.
In any case, it’s outrageous that devices costing over 1,000 euros will have LTPS 60 Hz displays when lower-end models are already adopting 90 Hz displays, which provide a better user experience and smoother gaming – a market Apple is targeting. Consequently, it’s difficult to understand why Apple will continue with 60 Hz displays in 2024…
